• To assure availability of professional and high quality Free software products, services and training.
• To foster and support local Free software community.

Vision

Confidence in Free software lets users migrate from proprietary software to Free (Open Source) software. A lot of services and products based on Free software are available in the market. Free software gains a significant market share over a few years.

History

The public movement “Open Source for Lithuania” was established in the summer of 2001. The members of this movement promoted Free (Open Source) sofware ideas in Lithuania. Initiators of this movement were the students of informatics of Lithuanian universities. In April 2003 “Open Source for Lithuania” was registered as a non-profit public organization.
